History |
The background of the CEO as an
inspector at the Department of Labour and
the need for a quality service in the
occupational health and safety field in the
Southern Cape made the establishment of such
a company the next logical step. House of
Safety (Pty) Ltd was founded in 2004 by
Hennie Pretorius and three partners. During
2007, the business has grown to such an
extent that offices in Cape Town and
Johannesburg had to be established to ensure
that the excellent service our clients have
become used to, are upheld. By 2008, House
of Safety moved into their own premises at
94 Merriman Street in George which consists
of offices and training facilities. This
serves as the head office for the company. During
February 2009, Hennie obtained a Doctor of
Science degree with major in Occupational
Safety and Health.
We are currently awaiting our final approval
from the Health and Welfare Seta for
providing accredited training in the
occupational safety field. This is a field
where our expertise can form the basis to
provide the necessary competence to the
industry.
Charlie Tellis joined the House of Safety
team during 2005. Working for Department of
Labour for 5 years as a labour inspector.
Charlie is another valuable asset to House
of Safety. He is currently the Branch
Manager at the Johannesburg branch, covering
all areas from Durban to Bloemfontein.
Tamé Fourie, Calvin Fourie &
Allan Burger are the young dynamic team full of
energy. Their practical experience and the training
certificates they have obtained makes them a team
to be reckoned with.
Regular courses keep our consultants up to
date and informed to provide our client with
the knowledge they require. The training includes the
Construction Safety Practitioners (COSAPRA) course.
Permit to Work, the Hazard and Effects Management
Process and Gas testing courses have also been attended.
The latter training courses are now also being presented
at our training facilities in George. Our client base
expands to a Global structure enabling
ourselves to broaden our knowledge base to a
Global level of competence.
Other fields that we specialize in include
labour relations and employment equity. |
